Agava
Tkaciceva 39, Centre, 10000, Zagreb
Focaccia! That’s what you should say to the waiter the moment you sit at your table. The home made fucaccia is to die for, as are most of the dishes on the menu.
is located on the main café street (Tkalciceca), slightly hidden off the main street, up a flight of stairs. The terrace overlooks the street and makes for great alfresco dinning in the summer. The wine list is quite extensive and offers some great Aussie wines as well as quality local vino, served by the glass.
The place focuses on food, but is a great place to sit and sip wine, perhaps with a plate of cheese aqnd of course some of Agava’s home made fucaccia.
Agava has seen some esteemed guests over the years and was one of Terrence Howard’s favourite restaurants while he was filming in Zagreb, with good reason. The view and food make it one of Zagreb’s best wine bar/restaurants to spend a summers afternoon.
One criticism, the interior is quite plain and tatt, but the ambience, choice of wines and food make up for it.
